After so many years spent abroad (more than a decade!) I am very happy to be back here :-))) Annyi, külföldön eltöltött év után (több mint egy évtized!) nagyon boldog vagyok, hogy visszajöttem :-)))

Hi everybody, thanks to all who are following my blog in some way! These weeks I have sooo many new photos that I just can't keep up with uploading, not to mention posting here... Right now I am cleaning up my hard drive and uploading all my pics to Flickr so that I can work with them from there. In the meantime, have a visit over there!
Sziasztok, köszönöm mindenkinek, aki valamilyen módon követi a blogomat! Ezekben a hetekben annyi új fotóm van, hogy nem győzöm őket feltölteni, nem beszélve arról, hogy itt még írjak is róluk. Most éppen a gépemen végzek nagytakarítást, és minden képet a Flickrre rakok fel, hogy aztán onnan dolgozhassak velük. Addig is, látogassatok meg ott!
I have no connection to the makers of this video, and obviously it is an advertisement, emphasizing some of the nicer sides of Budapest and Hungary, surely not showing down points, like inflation, corruption and so on - but where on this planet don't they have such things?
Nekem semmi kapcsolatom sincs a videó készítőivel, és nyilvánvalóan ez egy hirdetés, amely kihangsúlyozza Budapest és Magyarország néhány értékét, és biztosan nem mutatja be a rosszabbik oldalát, mint infláció, korrupció és hasonlók - de ezen a bolygón hol nem léteznek ilyesmik?
The point is the effort and intention to continuously make things better, and this is what one is invited to, by this video.

Having been lived in 5 European big and rich cities, revered and envied so much by many Hungarians, I have not yet seen such a vibrating, pulsing and alive place where you can almost feel the good vibes, a special atmosphere, the presence of arts and culture, penetrating through your skin, as Budapest - despite all the difficulties and problems. Éltem már 5 gazdag, sok magyar által csodált és irigyelt európai nagyvárosban, de nem láttam még egy annyira vibráló, lüktető és életteli helyet, ahol szinte érzed, amint a jó energiák, a különleges atmoszféra, a művészetek és kultúra jelenléte szinte áthatol a bőrödön keresztül, mint Budapesten - minden nehézség és probléma ellenére.
Somehow the air was definitely more clear, not as smoggy as last year in general, so I could see pretty far. Valahogy a levegő tisztább volt, nem annyira szmogos mint tavaly általában, így elég messzire elláttam.
Oh yeah by the way, on Facebook I just did a quiz "Which EU capital should you live in?" and guess what result I got... :-) This gave me the excuse to stay up late and create this post. Ja igen, egyébként pont most csináltam egy tesztet a Facebookon:"Melyik EU-fővárosban kellene élned?", és találd ki, milyen eredményt kaptam... :-) Ez szolgáltatta az ürügyet arra, hogy ilyen későn fennmaradjak, és megalkossam ezt a bejegyzést.
I love these Sunday walks! I was waiting for a bus at Deák tér and liked how the Sun lighted the park - actually the park belongs to Erzsébet tér. Imádom ezeket a vasárnapi sétákat! Buszra vártam a Deák téren, és megtetszett, ahogy a Nap megvilágította a parkot - ami voltaképpen már az Erzsébet tér.
As I was fiddling with my camera, trying to find a good angle, I didn't even look at the three young people coming toward me and playing around, I was only looking at the frame of the picture I wanted to get. But exactly at the moment when I clicked, I perceived that somebody was jumping in front of me and I suspected I caught some good move - here it is: Ahogy ott babráltam a kamerámmal, és egy jó szöget keresgéltem, még csak nem is néztem arra a három játékos kedvű fiatalra, akik felém tartottak, csak azt néztem, hogy hol legyenek majd a kép szélei. De pont abban a pillanatban, amikor exponáltam, érzékeltem, hogy valaki ugrott előttem, és gyanítottam, hogy egy jó mozdulatot kaptam el - íme:

I also asked them to name this photo and the boy who jumped said promptly: "The Happiness and I" - which is the title of an old Hungarian pop song, from one of our greatest female singers, the late Zsuzsa Cserháti. Arra is megkértem őket, hogy adjanak címet a fotónak, és a fiú, aki ugrott, rögtön rávágta: "A boldogság és én" - ami egy régi magyar szám, a néhai Cserháti Zsuzsától, egyik legjobb énekesnőnktől.
My dear young friends, I thank you for being my models and wish you to always have reason for jump from happiness :-) Kedves ifjú barátaim, köszönöm, hogy a modelleim lettetek, és kívánom nektek mindig: legyen rá okotok, hogy ugráljatok a boldogságtól :-)
In my last Subway Day post I showed you the metro entrance of Nyugati which is quite ugly. But when we go up, it's pretty.
The subway doesn't have its own building, you just go down at the end of this tram and its in the underpass. What you can see on the pictures is the beautiful Nyugati (=Western) train station - from where trains go to East from the Danube... A metrónak nincs saját épülete; egyszerűen lemegyünk az aluljáróba ennek a villamosnak a végénél, és ott lesz lent a bejárat. Ezen a képen a gyönyörű Nyugati Pályaudvar épülete látható, ahonnan a vonatok a Dunától Keletre mennek...
A legutóbbi Metró-napi bejegyzésemben megmutattam nektak a Nyugati metróállomás bejáratát, ami igencsak randa. Viszont, ha felmegyünk, szép:
This little video is very far from a professional job, but you get the feeling, with the wedding party sounds coming from the terrace. Ez a kis videó nagyon messze áll a profi munkától, de érzitek a hely szellemét, a lagzi hangjaival a teraszról.
