Subway Day: Blaha

Tonight's concert the Mookie Got Robbed show will take place very close to one of the main hubs in Budapest, Blaha Lujza tér (square), simply called "Blaha".
A mai koncertem, a Mookie Got Robbed show Budapest egyik fő csomópontjához, a Blahához, azaz a Blaha Lujza térhez nagyon közel lesz.

Lujza Blaha was a Hungarian singer and actress, called "the nation's nightingale".
Blaha Lujza magyar színésznő, énekesnő volt, a nemzet csalogányának nevezték.

She became a Permanent Member of the National Theater (Nemzeti Színház, that's what you can see on the photo), in 1901.
A Nemzeti Színház Örökös Tagja volt 1901-től.

You can see this display commemorating the grand dame of Hungarian theater at Blaha Lujza tér subway station, down by the tracks.
Ez a vitrin a magyar színház nagyasszonyának állít emléket, lenn a vágányoknál.

Here is a slice of the underpass at Blaha which is one of the highest traffic hubs in Budapest. Well, this is a rare moment when you can hardly see any people around...
Itt a Blaha aluljárójának egy kis szelete (ami az egyik legforgalmasabb csomópont Budapesten). Nos, ez egy ritka pillanat, amikor alig lehet látni valakit arrafelé...

At the Blaha

At the Blaha (Blaha Lujza tér), in the heart of Budapest, amongst trams, subway, cars, neon billboards, boring modern office buildings, one can find real treasure, like the New York Cafe.
A Blahán, Budapest szívében, villamosok, metró, autók, neon hirdetőtáblák és unalmas modern irodaházak között igazi kincsekre is bukkanhatunk, mint a New York Kávéház.

Another nice building is actually used as an office building, some authority, I forgot what.
Egy másik szép épületet valójában irodaépületként használnak, valamilyen hatóság, elfelejtettem, micsoda.

Summer trip, Monday July 23

So I am back from my 2-week trip to Hungary.
Tehát visszajöttem a kéthetes magyarországi utamról.

I had such a great time!!!
Olyan jól éreztem magam!!!

It was not very nice to arrive from 13 Celsius to 33 or more though...
Bár nem volt annyira kellemes megérkezni a 13 fokból a 33-ba...

I was running around all day, doing this and that, meeting people etc and clicking my little camera. One of the first pictures that are ready:
Egész nap szaladgáltam, ezt-azt csináltam, találkoztam emberekkel, kattintgattam a kis masinámat. Ez az egyik első kép:

It's at Blaha (Blaha Lujza tér - square) which is one of the main squares in Pest with extremely heavy traffic. Still you can see such nice things.
A Blahán van (Blaha Lujza tér), amely Pesten az egyik legforgalmasabb csomópont. Mégis lehet látni ilyen szép dolgokat.



In the night, I was going to the Tilos Radio (as far as I know, the first Hungarian independent radio station, since 15 years) to be the guest for the weekly Folk Music Show.
Késő este bementem a Tilos Rádióba (tudomásom szerint az első független magyar rádióadó, 15 éve), ahol a heti Népzene c. műsor vendége voltam.
