Szabadság-híd

On Thursday, I had a quick visit to Budapest from Kazincbarcika (for a few business, club and private meetings and for a masquerade in the night, pictures and videos later) and had maybe an hour to take a walk and inhale some - well, not-so-clean Budapest air, compared to Stockholm.
Csütörtökön felszaladtam Pestre Kazincbarcikáról (pár üzleti, klub- és magánjellegű találkozóra, na meg egy jelmezbálra, képek és videók később), és volt talán egy órám, hogy sétáljak egyet, és szívjak egy kis nem túl tiszta pesti levegőt - legalábbis Stockholmhoz képest.

But I highly prefer the atmosphere of this pearl of River Danube!
De messze jobban szeretem a hangulatát a Duna gyöngyének!

Pest View from Margitsziget

Took a walk on the Margitsziget (Margaret Island) in the middle of February.
Sétáltam egyet a Margitszigeten, február közepén.

Pest side of Budapest which means East from this island.
Budapest pesti oldala, tehát a szigettől Keletre.





A little bit from the island itself: medieval ruins in the foreground and in the background the same part of Pest as on the previous pictures, called Újlipótváros (in district 13).
Egy pici magából a szigetből: középkori romok az előtérben, a háttérben pedig Pestnek ugyanaz a része, mint az előző képeken, Újlipótváros (XIII. ker.)

On the large photo, you can see joggers, there is a popular jogging track around the island, 5.3km long, coated with red rubber.
A nagyméretű fotón léthatsz kocogókat is; egy népszerű futópálya veszi körül a szigetet 5,3km hosszan, piros gumival fedve.

Almássy utca

Almássy utca (street) leads to Almássy tér (square) in district 7, where there was a famous cultural centre with a lot of concerts, since God knows how long. I used to go there every Friday, 20 years ago... and later, I took my little baby to the swimming pool.

Unfortunately, they sold the building and closed the place down :-(((

Anyway, in December, I went there to see some bands and on the way home, I enjoyed the mood of the environ.

The Little Princess

Gee, I haven't been here for 2 months! Was quite busy.
Istenem, már két hónapja nem jártam itt! Eléggé be voltam havazva.

Here is a picture I took in the very first days of my stay here in Budapest, in December.
The Little Princess by Laszlo Marton is sitting by the Danube, listening to tram number 2, since 1990.
Itt egy kép, amit budapesti tartózkodásom legelső napjaiban készítettem, decemberben.
A kis királylány (Marton László szobra) 1990 óta ücsörög a Dunaparton, hallgatva a 2-es villamost.
