Subway Day: Blaha

Tonight's concert the Mookie Got Robbed show will take place very close to one of the main hubs in Budapest, Blaha Lujza tér (square), simply called "Blaha".
A mai koncertem, a Mookie Got Robbed show Budapest egyik fő csomópontjához, a Blahához, azaz a Blaha Lujza térhez nagyon közel lesz.

Lujza Blaha was a Hungarian singer and actress, called "the nation's nightingale".
Blaha Lujza magyar színésznő, énekesnő volt, a nemzet csalogányának nevezték.

She became a Permanent Member of the National Theater (Nemzeti Színház, that's what you can see on the photo), in 1901.
A Nemzeti Színház Örökös Tagja volt 1901-től.

You can see this display commemorating the grand dame of Hungarian theater at Blaha Lujza tér subway station, down by the tracks.
Ez a vitrin a magyar színház nagyasszonyának állít emléket, lenn a vágányoknál.

Belated Subway Day

Holy Cow, I was preparing for this month's Subway Day (which is on the 15th), with some very special stuff I was sure you would like - and just couldn't manage to post it, I was so involved with my house concert last night...
Szent Habakuk, valami különlegessel készültem az ehavi Metró Napra (ami 15-én van), amiről biztos voltam, hogy tetszeni fog nektek - de aztán nem jutottam el odáig, hogy felrakjam, annyira el voltam foglalva a tegnapi házikoncertemmel...

Alright, so here it is, I hope you'll still have as much fun with it as I had.
Nos, itt van; remélem, annyira jól szórakoztok majd, mint ahogy én.

Saturday night, going home from the Tanchaz Festival, the guys started to play already at the subway station of Stadionok where the Arena is and didn't even finish when on the escalator at Astoria...
Szombat éjszaka, hazafelé a Táncháztalálkozóról, a srácok már a metróállomáson elkezdtek játszani, és még az Astoria mozgólépcsőjén sem fejezték be...

When getting off the train, we got a round applause from the other passangers :-)))
Amikor kiszálltunk, hatalmas tapsot kaptunk a többi utastól :-)))

Yeah, it's Subway Day! Not only the National Holiday for Hungary...
Igeen, Metrónap! Nemcsak Magyarország nemzeti ünnepe...

In front of the Keleti Raiwaly Station (which has a subway station as well), they are building the a new line, Metró 4.
A Keleti Pályaudvar előtt (amelynek metróállomása is van) új metróvonalat építenek, a 4-est.

I can't go into the long story of it now, but I found this one funny: you can go and have a peek at the construction site.
Nem tudok most belemenni a hosszú történetébe, viszont viccesnek találtam, ahogy be lehet kukucskálni az építési területre.

Hello everybody, greetings from Budapest!
Üdv mindenkinek Budapestről!

I arrived here a few days ago for a half year or so and I hope I will have enough opportunities to shoot some nice pics.
Néhány napja érkeztem kb. egy félévre, úgyhogy remélem, lesz elég lehetőségem néhány szép fotót lőni.

I haven't been out yet with my camera, that's why this is a photo from my last trip, end of October.
Még nem mentem ki a fényképezőgépemmel, ezért ez a fotó a legutóbbi utazásomról van, október végéről.

Who hasn't heard about the cult car of socialism, the Trabant, made in East-Germany that time? Here is a nice one, decorated with newspapers from the era.
Ki nem hallott a szocializmus kultuszautójáról, a Trabantról, amit akkoriban az NDK-ban gyártottak? Itt egy szép példány, a korszak újságaival dekorálva.



Beside it a piece of Berlin Wall, but more about that next time. Have a great weekend!
