Tavasz a Gödör fölött
Gödör (="Ditch") is a must see establishment in Budapest, one of the most popular hangouts, with loadz of concerts, parties, performances, festivals and other things to do. Many programs are even free!
A Gödör nevű intézményt nem szabad kihagyni; ez az egyik legnépszerűbb hely rengeteg koncerttel, bulival, előadásokkal, fesztiválokkal és egyebekkel. Sok program ráadásul ingyenes!
Located in the very heart of Budapest, by the Deák tér metro station where all the subway lines meet, there used to be the central bus station at the square, back in the communist era. Then they decided to build the National Theater instead. The bus station moved out from the inner city and the construction works began. Only to find out a bit later that it was not an excellent idea, financially or I don't know the story, for what reasons. So there was a huge ditch left there, right in the very middle of Budapest, for quite some time, till they decided again what to do with it...
Budapest kellős közepén található, a Deák tér metróállomásnál, haol az összes vonal találkozik. Régen, még a kommunista időkben itt volt a központi autóbuszpályaudvar. Aztán úgy döntöttek, hogy a Nemzeti Színházat építik a helyére. A buszállomás kiköltözött a Belvárosból, és megkezdődtek az építkezési munkák, hogy később rájöjjenek: nem igazán kiváló ötlet, pénzügyi vagy valami hasonló ok miatt, nem ismerem pontosan a történetet. Tehát ott tátongott egy éktelen nagy gödör, Budapest kellős közepén, amíg el nem döntötték, hogy mihez is kezdjenek vele...
Voila, a solution popped up: they made an underground parking lot and above, a park which includes an entertainment facility which was obviously named Gödör Today, if you want to listen to music, have a beer or a coffee, even a picnic, sit on a bench or on the grass and watch the skate boarders, bikers, people passing by, meet up with your friends, this is one of the top choices.
Voila, megszületett a megoldás: egy földalatti parkolót építettek, és fölé parkot, a szórakozóhellyel, amit nyilvánvalóan kereszteltek el Gödörnek. Manapság, ha zenét akarsz hallgatni, meginni egy sört vagy egy kávét, padon vagy a fűben ücsörögve piknikelni, nézni a gördeszkásokat, bicajosokat, sétálgatókat, barátaiddal találkozni, akkor ez az egyik legjobb választás.
In the summer it is always very crowded, full of life, probably the most buzzing place in town. Which already starts in the spring (I took these pics at the end of March last year)
Nyáron nagyon sokan vannak, zajlik az élet, talán a város legpezsgőbb helye nyüzsis. Ami már tavasszal elkezdődik (a képeket tavaly március végén készítettem).
